We stayed at The Buteland Stop Rosie Off Grid Shepherds Hut for a few days to explore the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. The location was incredible, with breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. The mornings offered stunning sunrises, while evenings were perfect for relaxing by the bbq and enjoying breathtaking sunsets. The hut itself was compact yet comfortable, with a cozy bed, separate shower area, and even a cooking hob. I had the best value for my money at Rosie Shepherds Hut! The room was beautifully decorated, with amazing views and all the amenities needed for an off-grid escape. The hosts, Brian and Lesley, were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
The breakfast menu could be improved with a wider variety of options.

The views and scenery were absolutely breathtaking, and the wood burner in the hut kept us cozy and warm throughout our stay. It was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway, especially for stargazing. We also appreciated the fact that the hut was dog friendly, so we were able to bring our furry friend along. the owner was friendly and not overbearing, which added to the charm of the remote location. the hut had all the necessary amenities, including charging points and a warm shower. it was a comfortable and character-filled experience in an amazing location.
The cooking facilities were quite limiting due to the lack of space and absence of a fridge. it would have been nice to have some sachets of milk for making hot beverages in the morning.

The views were absolutely breathtaking, with stunning landscapes in every direction. It was a perfect escape from the daily hustle and bustle, allowing us to relax and unwind. the hut itself was warm and cosy, with a log burner that kept us toasty even in cold weather. the shower provided nice warm water, although it had a small hot water tank so quick showers were a must. the off-grid property offered a unique experience, with limited electricity available , allowing us to disconnect from technology and truly immerse ourselves in nature.
The cooking facilities were quite limiting due to the lack of space and the absence of a fridge. It would have been nice to have more options for preparing meals.

I had the most amazing stay at this off-grid shepherd's hut. The location was absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife. The hut itself was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I was able to explore the stunning Northumberland region and visit Hexham, the Wall, and the Simonside Hills all within a short drive. The value for money was excellent, and I couldn't believe how comfortable and well-equipped the hut was. The only downside was that I couldn't stay longer, but I will definitely be returning in the future. I highly recommend this unique and peaceful accommodation.

Lovely little hut with fabulous views. The wind howling around the hut added to the experience. Sitting outside in good weather would make it even better. The beds were a bit high, but a step was provided. We loved the remote and quiet location, listening to the lambs and watching a barn owl. The hut was well-set up with good insulation, keeping the heat in. Clear instructions were provided for everything.
Not many cons, but the distance to a pub was a downside. The bed wasn't the comfiest, but it was bearable.

The location of the hut is truly stunning, with fabulous views and surrounded by amazing wildlife. the Northumbrian countryside is easily accessible from here, providing a great base for exploration. the hut itself offers everything you need for an off, grid stay, with self, contained facilities and a well, equipped kitchen. the sunrises and sunsets are particularly breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
The cleanliness of the property could have been better, with some areas, particularly the shower cubicle and kitchen surfaces, needing a more thorough clean.
